 
Fjälldata* is a small but prominent demo party held annually in the northern part of Sweden with main focus on c64. Next one is 31Jan - 2Feb 2025, and this time our inspirational theme is Norway! More on that in the Compos section Because of the distant location and small organizing crew this party is invite only. Remote entries are accepted and encouraged! (Prizes for top 3 in each compo will be sent out even for non present participants) Join our streams at our streams at scenesat or www.twitch.tv/fjalldata for really good compos as well as interesting talks and live performances. PLATFORMS This is primarily a c64 party, but all compos are open for vic20, Amiga and Atari2600 too! Contributions for these machines will be included in the c64 compos as long as there is less than 3 entries for the other platform. WE LOVE NORWAY: This years inspirational theme is applicable on all compos. There will be a little bonus prize for the best interpretation of anything related to Norway! Let's excess in Norwegian flags, fjords, cod, oil, Edvard Munch, Røyksopp, JoGeir, Offence and whatnot.. See this as a source of inspiration - not a demand. It's also perfectly fine to do anything as usual. MUSIC: No covers or remixes. No samples. Multispeed is allowed. 2sid is allowed and will be run as 2x 8580 $d420. Specify 8580 or 6581 and song length. (There is no actual runtime limit, but songs will be cut at 3:00 at the compo.) SAMPLE MUSIC: All kinds of advanced sample (digi) playback is allowed as long as it is executable on the compo machines. Normal waveforms can be used along with the samples. Covers and remixes are allowed but no 1:1 renditions. Specify 8580 or 6581, song length and original title / composer for covers. (There is no actual runtime limit, but songs will be cut at 3:00 at the compo.) GRAPHICS: All formats ok. One still frame. No copies. (This is a competition in artistic skill, creativity and imagination. You know the rules) Specify format. MONOCHROME GRAPHICS: Hi-res graphics in two colours of your choice. No copies. No scrolling or animation. Interlace allowed. Sprites and splits (or frankly any vic trick) in the border allowed as long as the output have the same two colurs as the rest of the picture. PETSCII: No tricks, splits or sprites - just plain PETSCII with one background colour for the whole image (exceptions for the above when used for border graphics - that is allowed as long as the output meets the same restrictions as the actual screen area) BARE HAND PARTY PIXELING: A subject will be revealed at Friday 20:00 local time in the stream and in the CSDB event comments. The challenge ends Saturday 16:00 and results will be shown as its own category later at the compos. All formats ok. One still frame. Only one pixel program might be used. Preferably Albert. No references, AI or other tools. Just you and your imagination. Partypeople will pixel openly. Remote competitors are encouraged to share the screen via Discord, Zoom or the likes, but it's not mandatory. Post link in the CSDB event comments in that case. This is for fun and cheaters better just stay away <3 DEMO: Should be runnable on the compo machines. Ask us beforehand if you have special requirements. We don't have a runtime limit for demos, but we might take action if the crowd yells "space" during very lengthy contributions :) There will be nice prizes in all compos, and we do send them out to remote winners too. C64 A c64 reloaded mkII PAL with 8580 / 6581 (digiboost is disabled) and 1541u II+ is the main compomachine. 2sid's will be run on a good old vsp-safe PAL c64 with sidFX sporting two 8580s and digiboost set at 0. The output sound will be monomixed. Please ask beforehand if you plan to release something very special. vic20 S-video modded vic20 PAL with a modern ram expansion cartridge up to +35kb. Please deliver .prg's on a .d64 and specify ram requirements! Will be loaded from a 1541u II+ hooked to a c64. Amiga 1200 PAL. - Partyt startar på fredagen den kl 18’00 med pompa och ståt! - Vi kommer vara på plats (eller i närheten) och rodda från tidig förmiddag på fredagen. - Själva partylokalen heter Stockesalen och ligger vackert belägen på Frösön, strax utanför Östersund city. Den har features som bildkanon, ljudanläggning, öppen spis, och en majestätisk flygel! Det är dock långt till kiosker och butiker, så bunkra upp med tobak och andra förnödenheter. Man kan i princip säga att ni är helt i vår famn när ni väl kommit, och vi ska se till att ni trivs med det! - Bor gör man antingen på golvet, eller -som de flesta- på Frösö Park Hotell som ligger 900m från partyt och även har en magisk spaavdelning. - Entreavgiften på 600:- ger oss lokalen, middag på fredagen, lunch och middag på lördagen, kaffe mm plus frukost för övernattande. Betalning i första hand med swish. Paypal går fint för våra norska vänner, men nu ska även Vipps funka. - Meddela om vi behöver känna till allergier, veganism eller så. - Bar kommer finnas och innehålla Öl och Vin för 20:- enheten. 400:- ger dig fri bar hela helgen utan krusiduller! Det kommer även finnas alkoholfri öl. - Anmälan sker genom att ange om man är "going" eller ej i facebookeventet. Kom ihåg att anmäla dig, och (i värsta fall) avanmäla i tid! Vi behöver kunna beräkna mat och dryck. Vi kommer ha max 32 platser. (Folk utan facebook håller vi ordning på på annat sätt) - Vi kör som vanligt "invite only" men det är tillåtet att föreslå fler. - Det är alltid välkommet med små föredrag, livemusik, demoshow eller annan underhållning! Hör av er så ordnar vi plats i schemat. - Vi ställer ytterskorna vid dörren! De flesta tycker det är mysigt med bara strumpor. Andra tar med inneskor.
